I really like my Amazon Firestick and am sick of the crap Directv has been pulling since AT&T bought them so I decided to give HULU with Live TV a try.

Turns out it's $40 a month. And I will probably need to bump up my internet speed/bandwidth.

Installed the app on my Amazon device, registered, set up payment options, gave personal info - location, gender, age, etc... Pick favorite channels - History, FOXNews, FBN, NBCfn, FS1, ESPN....

Start Hulu, find Live TV. Shows list of whats on now. Cannot watch any of it, have to go to their website and set my location. ? I did that in setup. Go to website, login, find option to Set Home Location. Allow GeoLocation to run. Confirm zipcode = 'Service unavailable at this time". Cannot watch Live TV... Go to HELP. Help = go to Hulu website. Hulu website help = 'no technicians available'.

Go back into Hulu, try to find my channels list. No luck. Try to find shows I watch, search gives a bunch of BS episodes of shows I don't care about but have the title I searched for in their description. Go to 'Advanced Search', type in exact show name = not found.

Tried again today. Googled how to use Hulu. All the tutorials are outdated - nothing looks like the Hulu screen on my TV.

Service to set Home Location (needed to watch live TV) still not available, no chat techs, no phone techs....

Cancelled subscription, deleted app from TV. I guess I am just too old and dumb to watch streaming TV. Gonna call DISH.

Ugh, don't say that, if you can't figure it out, then there is no hope for us.

We've been wanting to cut the cord for a while. Either Hulu/Firestick/Roku, whatever, plus an over the air digital antenna. Can't stand Dish anymore. Our "Top180" or whatever package it is, has been changed so many times, it's not even the same channels we originally signed up for.

Oh, we'll also have to figure how to bring in a TiVo device, too, since the and :chitlins: like to be able to record things.

Yeah, gotta have a DVR. One of the reasons I wanted to try Hulu was because they have a 'cloud' DVR. 50G included, 200G for an additional $20 a month.
I'm not crazy about losing EVERYTHING if the inet goes down, though.

Directv bill this month is up another $12 because I cancelled the FREE Starz 90 day trial they gave me for fooking up my system. is wrong with those people? Iguess with autopay they figure you won't notice the unlubed screwing they are giving you.

i just cancelled TV last month. Same reasons, channel changes, AND you can't even surf... you get a few channels interspersed by those that you didn't pay for.
Tried 1 free Linux setup, and wonder of wonders, it didn't work for me

TV sucks now. Period. Does NOT matter who your provider is. Biggest problem around here is Charter cable. They're the only gig in town. We pay near 150/month. AND... We have the smallest cable contract they offer.

I did find "fmovies.is" for decent movies and tv series.
Sill looking for news.
