List and rate Gearhead movies you have seen.
Bullitt -
A good overall movie, not just because of the car chase.
Vanishing Point - 1971, not that pussy remake =
How much car chase can you put in one movie? Holy crap - gearhead overload!
Mad Max -
Very cool, awesome futuristic cars, too much story for a 5.
Road Warrior -
Max Max's BEST by far.
Christine -
Every boy's dream car. So what if it's a Chrysler - it has dual quads and FIXES ITSELF! That whole choking on a cheeseburger thing was way overblown. Only gets a 4 because the book is even better!
California Kid -
Cool car, good story, kinda slow in places. Martin Sheen in his acting days - before he started believing that he was the President.
Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry -
Cool chases, good story, keeps you interested. Peter Fonda's best movie (sorry Easy Rider).
American Graffitti -
Cars + Rock & Roll! If you don't give it a five you weren't alive in '62!
There's more, but someone else needs to chime in. _________________ Bob

Hot Rod
Guy wrecks his Mopar and finds a Willy's gasser to put his Hemi in.
Hollywood Nights
Kind of a newer American Graffiti. Star Car is "Project X" , a yellow 57 Chevy that was built by Popular Hot Rodding Magazine years ago.
Two Lane Blacktop
James Taylor and Dennis Wilson drive an evil black 55 Chevy that is actually the same car from American Graffiti.
Return to Macon County
B movie that was one of Don Johnson's first roles. Feature car is another yellow 57 chevy.
Sensing a pattern here.
Greased Lightning
Richard Pryor plays Wendell Scott, the first black NASCAR driver. Based on the true story
Last American Hero
Jeff Bridges plays Junior Johnson in another old school NASCAR themed movie, based on the Esquire Magazine article written by Tom Wolfe. |

Yep, Hollywood Knights is a good one.
Never saw Hot Rod (read the book by Henry Gregor Felson - not the same Hot Rod) or Two Lane Blacktop. Always meant to, it's just never been available.
White Lightning -
Burt Reynolds as an ex moonshiner seeking revenge on a crooked sheriff. Reynolds drives a full sized Ford (71 Galaxie?) with a 429 and a 4 speed.
The ORIGINAL HB Halicki Gone In 60 Seconds -
Low budget, but a good story line and great car scenes
Gone in 60 Seconds (remake) -
Nice cars, lousy script and lots of cliche lines. |

I have the full set of Henry Gregor Felsen books in a collectors box. They're paperback but still.... great to have. I still read them off and on. I'm hoping the boys will get interested in them eventually. |

I didn't know that they had a collectors box. I spent years searching for them. Finally got them all - in paperback of course. |

My dad actually found the set. Apparently Felsen's daughter was reissuing them and he picked them up at a Custom show somewhere. Then he gave them to me. _________________ Mark
